Permit Process

Submit building permit application and contractor’s registration to the Building Department by the following submittal methods:

  • In-Person: Village Hall, 2 Lagoon Drive, Hawthorn Woods, IL 60047. Office hours M - F, 8am - 4pm

Please Include the following:

  1. Completed permit application
  2. Proposal/estimate
  3. Specification sheets and installation manual
  4. Electrical diagram
  5. Structural letter for roof

The standard plan review and permit issuance timeframe is 20 business days, not including delays for incomplete submittals. Reviews are completed in the order in which they are received. There will be a re-plan review fee if subsequent reviews are required.

Inspections

Inspections must be requested by 3:00 p.m. the day prior, at either of the phone numbers provided above. Note: There will be a re-inspection fee for failed inspections, which will be deducted from the refundable bond.
