Department Responsibilities
The Community Development Department manages development in the Village by ensuring building, zoning, subdivision and annexation proposals are consistent with the Municipal Code and established Village policies. The Department is comprised of the Building Department, Planning Department and Economic Development Department and provides the following services:
- Coordinates current and long-range planning in accordance with the 2014 Comprehensive Plan
- Facilitates zoning, subdivision and annexation petitions
- Conducts plan reviews, issues building permits, coordinates inspection services, and administers code enforcement
- Serves as a professional planning and development liaison to the community and elected and appointed officials
