Who We Are
The officers of the Hawthorn Woods Police Department are committed to excellence in providing effective, high-quality service to the community professionally and courteously. They work in partnership with the community to improve the quality of life for everyone. The officers protect everyone’s rights and property and treat each person encountered with the respect and dignity they deserve.
Support
Often, we are asked how citizens can show appreciation and assist our officers and the Police Department for police services rendered. Whether they provide extraordinary vacation home watch services, provide exceptional follow-through, spend time mentoring in the school classrooms, or stay to ensure the comfort of extended family members after an incident or accident, the HWPD is second to none. That is why we have consistently been ranked within the top three safest communities in Illinois.
The Hawthorn Woods Police Support Fund will be used to provide additional resources for our police officers. In a climate of hardship for our law enforcement professionals, your donation shows appreciation to those who serve others before self.
Giving
The Hawthorn Woods Police Department receives numerous citizen requests asking how they can support those officers who serve to protect the citizens each and every day. Any donation to the Hawthorn Woods Police Department will be utilized for safety gear for our officers who put their own lives on the line every day. Purchases will include new safety vests, body cameras, and safety gear.
Through your support, the Hawthorn Woods Police Department will receive additional resources to enhance state-of-the-art equipment purchases to serve the residents of Hawthorn Woods. Your donation will be used to help secure and maintain the best resources necessary for the Department, strengthening its capabilities to protect our community.
When you are looking for a recipient of your generous donations throughout the year, choose to honor a loved one, or wish to donate a lasting gift during the holidays, please remember those who serve and protect. While we welcome the treats and cookies dropped off at the station, you can now leave a lasting gift of appreciation. The Hawthorn Woods Police Department welcomes gifts of any size donation.
