“Coming to work for the Village of Hawthorn Woods is an absolute dream come true! After interacting with the residents and meeting the leadership team, the CFO title was a bonus. It is so hard to find a work environment that you truly love and I’m so grateful to have found that in Hawthorn Woods,” according to Katreina. “The support and genuine teamwork exhibited every day is why I love what I do and truly enjoy the community I serve.”
Katreina wanted to share one of her favorite stories about how she decided to accept our CFO offer and leave her Director of Finance position in the City of Chicago.
“After accepting my first interview for the Hawthorn Woods CFO position, I wanted to research the Village and get a feel of the community. One Saturday in May, my husband and I took a drive to Village Hall. After realizing it was an actual barn, we decided to drive through the neighborhood to feel how welcoming the town would feel to us as we are coming from a large urban community. We expected a patrol car to stop us and ask why we were cruising the neighborhood. But instead, we received waves and smiles from residents taking a walk. At that moment, I fell in love with Hawthorn Woods. To me, it was like I found a small piece of my hometown where genuine people embrace each other and just want to extend a friendly hello! This small gesture made such an impression on me that I share it with anyone who will listen!”
Welcome to our friendly hometown of Hawthorn Woods, Katreina!
