The Hawthorn Woods in Bloom committee is seeking volunteers to help our community thrive during this global pandemic. The America in Bloom national organization encourages member communities to involve residents to become advocates in their community, and we need you to adopt a park entrance sign or cul de sac near you! Volunteers can water and weed around the entrance signs of our beautiful parks on a weekly basis for the remainder of the growing season. This is a great way to get involved with your community while staying safely distanced this summer.
If you live near one of our parks or a landscaped cul de sac islands and would like to help maintain its beauty, please contact Brian Sullivan at firstname.lastname@example.org or 847-847-3531 to request your location. Volunteers may work individually or as a group. Scouts, churches, neighborhood associations, families, and other organizations are encouraged to volunteer. Last summer, we had dozens of volunteers that adopted one of their favorite public spaces. They were recognized by the Mayor at the annual volunteer appreciation meeting of the Hawthorn Woods Village Board.
Please contact the village for a list of cul de sacs or park entrances needing your help as we work together with the Hawthorn Woods in Bloom chapter to maintain the award winning national champion designation we have received for two consecutive years. We welcome all to join us!
