At the April 27 village board meeting, Mayor Dominick DiMaggio appointed Hawthorn Woods resident Jodi McCarthy, P.E. to fill his vacant Trustee seat on the village board. Jodi McCarthy, a professional engineer, has been a resident of Hawthorn Woods for six years. She resides in the Lakewood Meadows subdivision with her husband and two children, who are currently in 6th and 9th grades. She is a civil engineer with over 18 years of regulatory and consulting experience, specializing in municipal and stormwater engineering. Jodi has been active in promoting STEM educational opportunities and careers to students throughout the county, including in the classrooms of CUSD95 and D125. Jodi has served on the Village’s Finance Committee for almost two years, and is honored to be volunteering her time and professional talents for the residents of Hawthorn Woods. Jodi stated that she is honored to help out her community in any way she is called upon, and said it was an honor to be called to service as a member of the Village Board.
