Learn to Swim
Class Level Descriptions
|Swim lessons have ended for the 2016 season.
Our summer 2017 class schedule will be available March of 2017.
|Swimming is an essential skill. Our programs are designed to ensure that your child learns to swim in a gradual process that includes the introduction and mastery of various skill sets before moving on, along with helping your child grow more confident in a safe and loving aquatic environment. Our quality instructors ensure your child will learn and advance their skills in a fun environment.
Learn to Swim classes are June - August at the Hawthorn Woods Aquatic Center, which is located at the corner of Midlothian and Marilyn Lane. Class levels offered include: parent-tot, preschool, and levels 1-5 (see below for descriptions).
The Village of Hawthorn Woods Aquatic Center Learn to Swim Program is structured according to the Red Cross. Levels are designed to build a foundation of basic swim skills to assist in mastering the different swim strokes in later levels. If you are new to the program, our staff will test your child to assist you in placing them in the appropriate level.
