You have received a Hawthorn Woods Village Code Violation Citation.
You have the following options available to you:
PLEAD GUILTY - You may plead guilty by paying the applicable fines and penalties related to the charge(s) against you. Payment must be received by the due date on the citation to avoid having to pay the increased fine as outlined on the citation.
REQUEST AN ADMINISTRATIVE HEARING – You may plead not guilty and request an administrative hearing. You may sign the applicable portion of your citation and return it to the Police Department or call the Police Department Records Division to request an administrative hearing. You will be notified of your hearing date and time by mail. Administrative hearings are generally held once a month at the Village Hall at 9:00 a.m.
Your request for administrative hearing must be received prior to the due date on the citation to avoid having to pay the increased fine as outlined on the citation.
At the administrative hearing you will appear before a Hearing Officer and have an opportunity to present evidence. The Village will also have an opportunity to present evidence. Upon a finding of not guilty by the Hearing Officer the case will be dismissed and there will be no further action taken by the Village. Upon a finding of guilty you will be responsible for payment of any fines/fees and penalties on the hearing date.
PLEASE NOTE - If you request an administrative hearing and fail to appear on the assigned date and time there will be a finding of guilty entered against you in the form of a default order. Additional fees will be incurred for any default order entered against you. |
